Day #38 - 40 Days of Training Videos - What are you hoping for? Don't quit!

What are you hoping for?

Are you expecting results and not getting them as fast as you want?

Don't quit!

Did you start off strong in the beginning of the journey but now feel frustrated because you expected something different?

Don't quit!

Every project worth pursuing requires more of us than we think it will.

We think we know what we're getting in to, but unfortunately too many of us quit..

just before our breakthrough
before we get to take in the view at the top of the mountain
before we get to be the people we need to be to make the climb
Don't quit!

Sometimes when we start our journey, we're in the foothills and we start thinking, "This isn't so bad." Then we get on the mountain and it takes longer and is substancially different than we expected.

Don't quit!

Sometimes when we're on the mountain, we're like a car loaded down with rocks climbing a steep hill. We don'’t go very fast, but...

...as we climb we get stronger

...as we climb we get wiser and start leaving behind the extra baggage:

  • Doubt
  • Fear
  • Fixed Mindsets
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Toxic Food
  • Toxic Thoughts
  • Excuses

That same car in neutral will roll back down the hill, if we don't keep pressing on – keep shedding the extra rocks weighing us down.

We will get stronger.

We will get wiser.

We will reach the top if we don’t quit!

The question remains...What are you hoping for?

Is it a mountain worth climbing?

Is it worth the time and the struggle?

If so, then don't quit!

If not, find a better mountain.

I asked myself this question today..."What am I hoping for?" My answer was "Freedom." This seems to be what most of us ultimately want. We all want freedom from something:

  • Unwanted pounds
  • Chronic illness
  • Pain
  • Fear
  • Doubt
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Clutter
  • Busyiness
  • Debt
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Disease
  • Medication
  • Weakness

The list goes on.

It's important not to confuse freedom with comfort. They are not the same.

Freedom requires discipline and helps us become what we hope for.

Comfort requires little of us. Comfort will keep us in the foothills always wondering what the view is like from the top of the mountain.

You will reach the top....

...if you don't quit!
